From May 29, 2023 (Monday) to June 2, 2023 (Friday), you can easily experience a rickshaw for free with the Uber app!

Uber Rickshaw Experience
Koyata Asou, deputy editor-in-chief of Asakusa’s town magazine “Asakusa Monthly,” and Tamon Fujiwara, editor-in-chief of Asakusa Web Monthly, went on an Uber rickshaw ride!

Unfortunately, it was raining from the morning, but because of the rain, we were able to experience that even on a bad day, a rickshaw ride can provide the best sightseeing experience in Asakusa.

I think many tourists, especially those from overseas, are worried about whether they can enjoy sightseeing without getting lost. Although it is not so common in Japan, I have heard of people getting ripped off by cabs in other countries. Uber apps offer language support and payment in peace of mind. We recommend that you take a rickshaw ride around Asakusa first to deepen your understanding of the area and get a feel for it, and then enjoy Asakusa on your own feet.

We, who often walk around Asakusa on a regular basis, discovered a new Asakusa that we could see only with a rickshaw, which moves at a leisurely pace and from a different perspective. We found new things that we could see because we were on a jinrikisha, which moves at a leisurely pace and from different perspectives. I waved to people on the street, and they waved back! There were many such fun discoveries.

And, to top it off, the chauffeurs are fun to guide you. Their ability to talk to customers is very appealing. You should ask them more and more about the places you are interested in. The girl who was in charge of us was “Nacchan,” a girl in her early 20s. She has a very cute smile and does her best to explain and entertain us, making the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish, and before we knew it, we were at the end of the line. Oh, it’s already that time! Oh, I want to ride again.
